**According to additional information provided by the community on 5/2011: This group is “The Links” which began in San Diego in 1957. As of 2011, there are only 2 of the original 14 members remaining (Cay Montgomery and Lillian Burt). The Links still operates as a professional women’s civic, cultural, and philanthropic organization. They are also mentors of young African-American men (the “Achiever Program”). The woman in this image have been identified as (L to R): Madeline Richardson, Fannie Payne, Bobbi Gilliam, Valletta Linette, Shirley Williams, Lucille Young, Connee Robinson, Cay Montgomery, Lillian Burt, Quincella Kimbrough, and Hazel Ragsdale.

***Additional information from the community on 3/2011: These are the founding members of a social orginization called “The Links.” They initiated a program to help young African-American men called “The Achievers” which still exists as of 2011. *****More community identifcation on 03/2011: Lucille Young is identified as 6th woman from left. Mrs. Payne, Lillian Burt, Quincella Kimbrough and Hazel Ragsdale are identified in the same order as above. Mrs. Gillium is also identified as being in photo, but she is not listed with an order number. She may be somewhere between Mrs. Payne, 2nd from left and Lucille Young, 6th from left.
