OP 15362-362

(Documentary Artifact): Two b/w photographic prints of Angel Quilp (or Juan Angel Quilp/Cuilp/Culp) at the home he built and lived in at Matawhy (Mataguay) in a canyon off of Warner’s Ranch until the 1903 evacuation of Cupeño [Cupeno] Indians from Warner Springs. The structure is made of adobe bricks and wood shingles. See series of photographs, OP 15362-361 through 363. Notes from these prints indicate that following the eviction, he moved to Mesa Grande where he lived until he passed away in 1929 at 101 years old.
