According to additional information provided on 12/2011 by Richard Carrico, a member of the E.H. Davis Project Scholar Advisory Committee: This is a good shot of ‘Mule Hill’ looking from the southeast towards the rocks and hillside that served as a camping spot of General Stephen W. Kearny and his injured men following the Battle of San Pasqual at the east end of the valley in early December 1846.
