We have a large collection of card photographs in the form of landscape panels. As distinguished from stereographs and cabinet cards, these were often referred to as “view cards” by the manufacturer and tended to be regional in nature. They are most often found in 5¼” x 8½” format but may also be in 5½” x 9″ and 5½” x 8½” formats. Although the genre tends to be scenic rather than portraiture, some cards contain groups of people (such as school portraits) and some have people within a scene.
