This presentation explores the evolution of agriculture and its importance for populations over thousands of years. Land use changed over the years spurred on by population growth and by the cultures of those who were in control. Native land was usurped by Spanish\, Mexican and American governments. This threatened the survival of indigenous life and culture. Indigenous peoples were the most intimately associated with the land\, while the Americans introduced the greatest diversity in land use in county history. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Barry Goldlust is a former pharmaceutical researcher and\, since 2014\, a volunteer docent at the San Diego History Center\, and our first graduate of the Community Historian Program \n \n \n RESERVATION June\, 14 2022 (12PM-1PM)\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n
