Dr. Guevarra shows how shared experiences with Spanish colonialism\, racial segregation\, labor and civil rights struggles\, and cultural identity markers such as food\, helped forge this distinct multiethnic identity for Mexipinos.\n \nPlease note: This presentation will not be recorded. Guevarra\, Jr. is Associate Professor of Asian Pacific American Studies in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University. Dr. Guevarra was born and raised in San Diego.
