SUMMARY:San Diego 101: Women I Wish I'd Known
DESCRIPTION:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n San Diego 101\nWOMEN I WISH I’D KNOWN\nTUESDAY\, MARCH 9\, 2021  |  12:00 – 1:00PM  |  ZOOM \n \n \n \n \n \n The San Diego women I wish I had known each impacted the development and success of Balboa Park and the institutions within it in some way. Some of the five names will be familiar\, and the others may be new to you. Some you may have heard of\, like Alice Klauber or Bea Evenson\, but you may be unsure of their roles in business\, the arts\, or organizational leadership. Each woman’s story reflects the era in which she lived and prospered\, and each tale illustrates how one woman made a difference in San Diego. \nPresenter Linda Canada holds an undergraduate degree in History from UCLA\, and a law degree from Loyola University in Los Angeles. Twenty years after leaving her legal practice she still considers herself a “recovering lawyer” and has worked exclusively in the field of local history. From 2005-2017 Linda served as the archivist for the Japanese American Historical Society of San Diego (JAHSSD)\, and was its President 2009-2012. Linda has given talks for the History Center’s Speakers Bureau for more than 20 years.  \n  \n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n RESERVE YOUR VIRTUAL SEAT TODAY! \n \n \n RSVP TODAY\n \n \n \n \n Guests will receive a confirmation following registration.  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n
