Give your troop, group or family an unforgettable adventure, after dark in the Park – a sleepover at the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park or Serra Museum in Presidio Park!
Serra Sleepover: Take a journey back in time as we explore Presidio Park and the historic site where ‘California began.’ Take a special hike around Presidio Park as you discover the four cultures who lived here centuries ago. Storytelling, costume dress-up, a thematic meal and an after dark flashlight tour in the Tower round out the activities. Serra Sleepover is offered year-round to individual troops and their leaders ( minimum 12 combined participants or agreement to pay for 12 at time of booking). Activites appropriate for Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes at this time.
- Elements of this overnight will help scouts achieve the World of Girls, Agents of Change, aMuse and aMaze Journeys.
San Diego History Center “Camp-in”: Celebrate like it’s 1915, and mark the 100th anniversary of the Exposition in Balboa Park. Through gallery exploration, character dress-up, and a host of indoor and outdoor activities, discover the stories of innovative women who played a role in shaping Balboa Park’s development and San Diego’s future. The “camp-in” is offered four times a year to individual troops and their leaders (minimum 12 combined participants or agreement to pay for 12 at time of booking). Activities appropriate for Brownies, Juniors and Cadettes at this time.
- Elements of this overnight will help scouts achieve their Architectural Fun Patch and Playing the Past Badge.
Seasonal Jamborees: For smaller troops or individual scouts, SDHC offers two seasonal jamborees that allow you to join up with other smaller troops! Jamborees are designed to host approximately 80 participants (scouts and chaperones) actively engaged in projects that help them achieve Badges or elements of their Journeys in a fun, relaxed, and comfortable setting. Dinner, healthy snack, and breakfast are provided. Activities are designed to immerse you in the sights, sounds, work, and play of the women who helped to shape San Diego.
