Belle Baranceanu: The Artist at Work focuses on the life works of Belle Baranceanu through her paintings, woodblock prints, sketches, and ephemera. Born to Romanian-Jewish immigrants, Belle became an aspiring art teacher and visionary. After migrating from the Midwest, she soon landed in San Diego and was at the forefront of the modernist art movement in San Diego. The San Diego History Center paired with collectors, members, and volunteers to help curator an ode one of San Diego’s most influential artists.
