How long have you and your family lived in San Diego? The Kumeyaay, our local indigenous people, have been in the San Diego area for over 12,000 years! Join us for a morning celebration of the Kumeyaay as we explore how they adapted to life on the land here, what they ate for food, how they built their homes in the past, and fun things they did to strengthen their families and communities. Many of these customs are still practiced today!! We will also read The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush, play a hunting game, tell nature stories, and make a special craft to take home!
