Biographical / Historical Notes

Audrey Oliver was born in San Diego the daughter of Walter G. and Anna Oliver. She attended the Jefferson School and later Our Lady of Peace Academy graduating in 1935. She then attended San Diego State College (later known as San Diego State University) and studied to become a dietitian. She later enlisted in the military during WWII, serving as a dietician at several posts in the United States and the European and Pacific theaters, including North Africa, Naples, Okinawa and the 118th Hospital at Camp Callan in La Jolla. In 1986, the Our Lady of Peace Academy directory lists her as Mrs. George Gunterman of Santa Barbara.

Scope and Content

This collection consists of a memory book covering Audrey Oliver’s time at Jefferson School and Our Lady of Peace Academy and a scrapbook covering 1929-1937. There are also loose scrapbook pages concerned with her time in the military and correspondence and invitations addressed to Audrey and her family.
