Biographical / Historical Notes
San Diego has historically held federal, state, local, and school elections. Materials associated with elections and campaigns include names of registered voters, political party tickets, campaign literature, sample ballots and public statements of election expenses.
Scope and Content
The collection contains San Diego election results, poll lists (names of voters), sample ballots, party tickets and campaign literature. Nomination and auditing committee statements are also included. Correspondence and newspaper articles discuss elections and political campaigns. Additionally, some election materials are included from outside of San Diego County. Of interest is a petition to the Superintendent of Schools for San Diego County requesting the establishment of a school district combining Lucerne and Elsinore.
