The Tuesday Club was a businessman’s club that started in 1896 in San Diego. It consisted of lawyers, doctors, ministers, businessmen, educators and others. It was a cultural and philanthropic organization with an excellent reputation. It included community projects such as work in improving Balboa Park, and a biological station that developed into Scripps Institution of Oceanography. The Tuesday Club also had lectures that were presented and discussed by its members.
