According to additional information provided on 10/2011 by a member of the E.H. Davis Project Scholar Advisory Committee: As customary in the Kumeyaay-Diegueno Candle Lighting ceremony, religious leaders would pray in remembrance of past generations. Catholic Rosary would be the form of prayer in that era.
