According to additional information provided on 10/2011 by a member of the E.H. Davis Project Scholar Advisory Committee: The cleared spaces in the desert pavement may be what is known as ‘sleeping circles’. These are areas where rituals were held and it was said that the dancers produced the cleared area by repeated movement. Some earlier thoughts were that these areas were house or sleeping areas.
