According to additional information provided on 10/2011 by Ken Hedges, Emeritus Curator of California Collections, San Diego Museum of Man and a member of the E.H. Davis Project Scholar Advisory Committee: (86:15900-476, 477, 503, and 683) These are all pictures of the old Vallecito Stage Station at the County park within in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. Collectively the photos give an interesting history of the station. Images 476 and 477 show a badly deteriorated structure in 1923 as compared to image 503, which shows the structure relatively intact only 19 years earlier, and image 683, which shows significant structure still standing 12 years earlier. Photographs in the Museum of Man files (historic component of Museum of Man site no. C-165, image nos. C-0165-0025 through C-0165-0027) show even greater deterioration at the time Malcolm Rogers of the Museum undertook restoration of the stage station in the 1940s.
