March 8, 2019, 6:00-8:00 pm at the San Diego History Center

The most fashion-forward event of the year as the History Center partners with San Diego Mesa College’s School of Fashion and Design to look back at what was and what is in fashion. This year’s theme is the 1960s.

Since 2012, students enrolled in the fashion program visit the History Center’s vast textile collection and taking inspiration from select pieces from the past and reinterpret them for the present day. These garments graced the San Diego History Center’s atrium, on display alongside the archival pieces.  This chic reception also featured a lecture by fashion expert, Susan Lazear, and all attendees had the opportunity to vote for the coveted People’s Choice Award.
