50 Years of Freedom: Local Ties to Operation Homecoming

FEBRUARY 14, 2023, 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Operation Homecoming, the government and military mission to return the 591 American Prisoners of War that were held by North Vietnam. Among the returning POWs were Coronado and San Diego residents. Coronado Historical Association curators will speak about these local men and the context of their return to their hometowns. Attention will also be paid to the advocacy work of the POW’s wives and families to demand government action leading up to their release.
