Learn about Kate Sessions, the “Mother of Balboa Park”, through free, hands-on activities with the San Diego History Center and the Women’s Museum of California.
A trailblazing horticulturist, Kate Sessions transformed San Diego’s landscape by introducing thousands of trees and plants — shaping the beauty of Balboa Park we love today.
We’ll read The Tree Lady, a picture book about Kate’s incredible legacy, and decorate flowerpots to plant seeds inspired by her work.
