The San Diego History Center presents San Diego’s New Deal Renaissance: An Artists Experience with an exclusive opening reception October 26th at the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park. 2024 marks the 90th anniversary of the landmark “New Deal” – the federal program that brought America out of the 1930’s depression and changed San Diego. This exhibition examines the New Deal through the life and works of artist Belle Baranceanu and is based upon the research of historian and Belle biographer Jennifer Hernandez profiled in the Fall Arts Preview by the San Diego Union Tribune.
