The heat, light and intense beauty of the Anza Borrego Desert has a profound effect on the architectural heritage of Borrego Springs. With its roots in the mid-century modern movement, the architecture of Borrego Springs, is in many ways unique. Using period photographs, as well as the contemporary imagery join Bill Lawrence, San Diego History Center CEO and publisher of BorregoModern.com for an exploration into the mid-century modern architecture of Borrego Springs and see how the designs of the past continue to influence the present and future of this San Diego County community.

Bio:
Bill Lawrence is President & CEO of the San Diego History Center having joined the institution in 2015 following a 30+ year in San Diego broadcasting and journalism. He is the researcher, writer and publisher of BorregoModern.com, a website devoted to the architectural design and history of the Borrego Springs community, advocating for its preservation and celebration. He has organized architectural tours as well as presentations on Borrego Springs including being a speaker at Dwell Magazine’s “Dwell on Design”. He is also a licensed Realtor® specializing in Borrego Springs mid-century modern architecture.
