Book Notes

Stickney’s Cracker Barrel: Antics of Lawyers and Judges in San Diego in the Early Part of this Century. By Jeff Stickney. San Diego: Law Library Justice Foundation, 1982. Illustrations. Index. 116 pages. $6.00.

Many of Stickney’s anecdotes from the San Diego County Bar Associations publication, Dicta, have been reprinted in a single delightful volume. The book contains stories of personalities of the local bar, court procedures, buildings and facilities, and many cases from the local courts. The illustrations help convey the flavor of the law and lawyers in early San Diego. Cracker Barrel is both good fun and a useful source on San Diego history.
