City of San Diego Honors San Diego History Center
October 1, 2019
OCTOBER 1, 2019 IS SAN DIEGO HISTORY CENTER DAY
The San Diego History Center’s 90-year role in preserving City history has been honored by the City of San Diego as part of National Archives Month. In ceremonies at City Hall, featuring Councilmember Chris Ward, City Clerk Elizabeth Maland, and Eric Young, II representing Mayor Kevin Faulconer, the History Center was cited for preservation of key elements of City History, including documents, photographs and the 1888 Seal of the City of San Diego. The History Center has recently returned these items to the City Clerk for preservation in the City’s own archive under a 1984 agreement between the City and History Center. October is American Archives Month and both the City and San Diego History Center invite you to explore our collections.
