His long, grey hair hangs nearly to his knees. There is a wooden structure and a couple of dogs behind him. A metal box and coat are on the ground nearby. Two women are visible around the corner of the house on the right of the image.

(Documentary Artifact): Two b/w photographic prints of Campo Indians, (L-R) Payon Hilschme up (also spelled Payone’ /Peyo’ne/Pay-une/Pay-one Hilachn’eup/Hilsch-me-up/Hilachme up) and his wife, Ap-e-chuck (also spelled Ap’-e’chuck or Ape Chuck) at their house. Ap-e-chuck wears a basket hat, shawl, and cloth dress.

(Documentary Artifact): Two b/w photographic prints of an elderly man, most likely Juan Desdios, and an unidentified young boy, possibly named Jose Moguashish. They sit on the ground in front of an adobe brick structure. The boy’s hand and face are blurry as he appears to be waving at the camera.

Same image as the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) negative, N25895. According to catalog record for this image, this man is Juan Deodios.
