Free Walking Tour: Celebrating 97 Years of the Junípero Serra Museum

Celebrate the 97th anniversary of the Junípero Serra Museum with a complimentary guided walking tour of the Presidio de San Diego, commemorating the museum’s opening in July 1929. Explore the archaeological site buried beneath the hillside below the museum and discover why this river valley has drawn people for thousands of years. Learn how archaeologists and historians have uncovered the Presidio’s history and reconstructed the buildings that once stood there.
After the tour, explore the museum’s exhibits and the stories of the Kumeyaay people, who have lived in the region since time immemorial, along with the many communities that helped shape the Presidio over time.
