Page 210. San Diego Sheriff Agostin Haraszthy arrested Lt. Sweeny after evidence was brought against him by the military.
Page 210. Mission San Diego de Alcalá seen here in an early drawing, was a headquarters for army troops in 1849.
Page 211. Brevet Major Samuel P. Heintzelman was instrumental in having Lt. Sweeny brought to trial in San Diego for an incident involving mistreatment of a soldier. Heintzelman served as Commanding Officer of army troops at Mission San Diego and Fort Yuma from 1849-1856.
