Henry Stanton Burton

Henry Stanton Burton (center), U.S. Civil War general and national hero, was María Amparo Ruiz’s husband. The couple met in Baja Calirfornia during the American takeover.

The ruins of the original Jamul Rancho adobe homesteaded by Henry Burton in 1854.

Pio Pico

The original owner of the Jamul Rancho, Pio Pico received the property in a grant from Gov. Manuel Victoria in 1833.

 
Henry Halleck Burton, c. 1903, was named for an associate of his father’s during the fall of La Paz.

Nellie

Maria Burton’s daughter, Nellie, who married Miguel de Pedrorena in 1875.
