In the years ahead, San Diegans must meet the challenges brought about by recent rapid growth and change. How effectively the city faces those challenges will determine whether San Diego becomes just another “City Colossal,” or maintains its image as the “City Beautiful.” San Diego’s ability to keep its vision of paradise alive for future generations to enjoy will depend on the vision of this generation and how well we balance continued growth with preservation of that special quality of life San Diegans have come to identify as their “Vision of Paradise.”
