ANNUAL PEACE AWARD FOR EXHIBITION LGBTQ+ SAN DIEGO: STORIES OF STRUGGLES + TRIUMPHS

The San Diego History Center has been presented San Diego Rotary’s 2019 Peace Award for the groundbreaking exhibition LGBTQ+ San Diego: Stories of Struggles + Triumphs; also honored is San Diego Pride’s Military Contingent. Dr. Lillian Faderman, Exhibition Curator, and Lambda Archives President Nicole Verdes (Exhibition Partner), as well as nearly a dozen San Diego History Center Trustees were in attendance as Board Chair John Morrell and CEO Bill Lawrence accepted the award. San Diego Rotary is the fourth-largest Rotary club in the world and honors the History Center’s LGBTQ+ exhibition “…in recognition of your outstanding efforts to foster peace in our community and beyond…”
